Essential oils are powerful anti-oxidant concentrates. These come from raw plant material such as flowers, leaves, wood, bark, roots, seeds, and peels. These plant ingredients are put into a distiller and placed over water. As the water is heated, the steam penetrates the plant material and vaporizes the volatile compounds. 

These vapors then travel through a coil and condense back to a liquid which is collected in a receiving vessel.

 Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender essential oil has been used for everything from dermatitis, eczema, sunburn, insect bites, headaches, migraine, rashes, insomnia, infections, arthritis, anxiety, tension, panic, hysteria, fatigue, burns, psoriasis, scars, thread veins. It is effective in treating infected hair follicles and other minor skin conditions, pimples, black heads, and light forms of acne.  It is good for all skin types and balances sebum.  Lavender is an excellent and safe childrens remedy including rashes, bumps and bruises.  

 Lavender and tea tree essential oils are the most popular and most common essential oils on the market.  These essential oils will be the antidote for most everything you will need.  They are also the only two essential oils that can be used straight on the skin in most cases.  All other essential oils must be at least diluted into a carrier oil, lotion or other products for usage.

Lemon Essential Oils

Lemon and orange essential oils come from the peels themselves and have very powerful anti-microbial properties that destroy pathogenic bacteria, viruses and fungi. They also contain concentrated forms of citrus bioflavonoids known as Vitamin P.  This helps the body respond to stress and recover from exercise more effectively

Sandalwood Essential oil 

Sandalwood essential oil helps soften skin by increasing and restoring its ability to retain moisture. It can be applied directly to the skin, although if you’ve never used it before or are particularly sensitive to essential oils, you may choose to dilute it slightly in some jojoba oil.  It is powerfully anti-aging; it can relieve localized rashes, inflammation, and itching; assist in fading scar tissue; offer toning and astringent properties; help heal eczema and psoriasis; soothe acne and shrink pimples; reduce dandruff; and makes a great aftershave. 

Sandalwood is a powerful fighter of bad bacteria and viruses. Traditionally, it is given as a treatment for the urinary tract and kidneys; aiding sore throat, chest infections, and bronchitis. It’s anti-inflammatory. Also, try adding a few drops to your favorite massage oil to increase relaxation and soothe sore muscles. This also helps scar tissue heal and fade.

Tea Tree essential oil
This oil has historic uses for rashes, insect bites, nail fungus, dermatitis, ringworm, head lice, sore throats, boils, congestion, wounds, arthritis, cold sores, fatigue, useful for wide spectrum of infections.  Tea tree encourages regeneration of scar tissue an reduces swelling.  For treating acne it acts as an oil controlling agent and has high germicidal value.  It also has the property to penetrate pus by missing with, which liquefies the pus causing it to slough off, leaving a healthy surface.  It has properties of being anti infectious, antibiotic, balsamic, stimulates immune system .   Next time you have a migraine from your job, or your child is not in the mood to go to sleep, turn to lavender essential oil.  

Fragrance oils are not a good substitute for essential oils.  If your face suddenly breaks out with on big red pimple in the center of your forehead or right on the tip of your nose, apply some tea tree oil in the affected area.  Having trouble sleeping, try a small amount of lavender essential oil on a cotton ball and put it into your pillowcase.  So there you have it.
